Architectures of care

"Architectures of Care" considers how early human vulnerability is shaped by the structures: both emotional and engineered that frame it. Working in engraved aluminium, the series sets gentle, intimate forms against the hard geometries of diagrams and blueprints, exposing care as something that is simultaneously lived, constructed and governed.
Within these works, tenderness becomes circuitry, and protection takes the form of infrastructure, holding the beginnings of life within frameworks designed to guide, contain or define them.
Child Support Network (Past)
"Child Support Network" juxtaposes the tender outline of a mother and child with the strict logic of a circuit diagram. The piece merges stippled softness with precise technical lines, balancing emotional presence with industrial clarity. The bond between mother and child appears both delicate and enduring: held within a network where safety becomes structure and affection becomes connection.

Early Learning (Study)
"Early Learning" introduces a recurring toy bear as a vessel for early emotional experience. Through minimal, finely engraved forms, the work reflects on vulnerability and memory, placing the small, soft figure within large structural frameworks that suggest both shelter and constraint. As an early chapter in the artist’s visual language, the series touches on themes of tenderness, precarity and the instinctive search for protection within larger systems.

Architectural floor plans and electronic circuit diagrams are rendered as precise line systems, combined with a figurative element drawn using dense cross-hatched linework. The composition explores the contrast between technical systems and embodied vulnerability.
