Hall 1 introduces the central narrative: the breaking point at which a manuscript leaves the author and begins an autonomous existence. Through a combination of photography, mixed media and a symbolic rope installation, the hall stages the dissolution of authorship — a moment of separation where the text gains its own agency. The works explore loss of control, the afterlife of narrative and the manuscript’s first steps into the world as a living body.
“Point of Separation”
Installation 300 × 100 × 40 cm Rope, floor marking
The installation marks the moment when the manuscript detaches from its author — a physical point of separation between creation and creator. A rope suspended from the ceiling intersects with a marked position on the floor, staging the tension between authorship, identity and the loss of control that underlies the series "Death of the Author."
