Sweeping Pendulum

"Sweeping Pendulum" presents a pendulum-brush suspended between mechanical inevitability and the possibility of creative action. With each swing, it both reveals and erases: tragedy elevated to spectacle, trivia elevated to crisis, and the flare of "hot news" that burns intensely before collapsing into dust. Behind this motion, a circuitry-like night city flickers with signals, cerebral fireflies mapping the restless flow of information. At the margins, human silhouettes appear constrained, processed and discarded like fragments of unwanted print, figures whose stories are reduced to debris in the system’s relentless churn.
The work confronts how mass information is circulated, manipulated and consumed, and how easily lived experience dissolves under its weight. Yet within this closed loop, the pendulum’s archaic tactility suggests that the artist’s gesture or a renewed form of technology might still disrupt the cycle, opening a breach in the machinery that governs contemporary perception.
